  Lora Bidner is a four-time SOCAN Foundation award-winning Canadian Screen-composer and award-winning songwriter. Her original song "3,000 Volts" from her album To the North won the Ontario Arts Council 2018 Colleen Peterson Songwriting Award and was nominated for a North American wide Independent Music Award. Having Completed a Masters of Music Technology from the University of Toronto, Lora followed her studies with a composer residency at the Canadian Film Centre in the prestigious Slaight Family Music Lab. 

    Having scored for over 80 feature-length and short films, documentaries, advertisements, TV series, video games and plays, Bidner's scores have featured in several award winning films and have screened at festivals like Hot Docs, TIFF Next Wave, WIFT Showcase, Fantasia Film Festival, NFFTY and many more.

  Most recently, Bidner co-composed along with Rob Carli for the new Fantasy series "Ruby and the Well" by the Family Channel, BBC/Family Channel series "Malory Towers", Mini Series "Hogtown" and feature thriller "Don't Click". She has written songs and worked as an in-studio/on-set vocal coach for the series' "My Perfect Landing" and "Malory Towers".

   Her critically acclaimed 2015 album To The North touches on themes of human pathos, self-discovery and folklore. Her sound is likened to the atmospheric, adult contemporary music of Imogen Heap, Lana Del Rey and Tori Amos. Metro News describes her music as:

  Bidner Hosted two sold-out album release parties in Ottawa and Toronto; To the North received radio play on CBC radio 1 and attention from media outlets such as Exclaim!, Huffington Post, Ottawa Showbox, Apt 613 and more.

    Lora’s two decades of performance experience and raw talent keeps her shows captivating as she plays proficiently on piano, guitar, ukulele, and hang drum; her stunning voice can be likened to Tori Amos or Regina Spektor. Her live performances often include guest artists: Drummer Mike Giamberardino (of Harea band and Tribe Royal) and world-touring virtuoso cellist Raphael Weinroth-Browne (of Leprous, Musk Ox and The Visit). 

  Notable performances include performing at the 2017 & 2015 Ottawa Bluesfest, 2014 Ottawa Folk Festival main stage, the NAC 4th stage for "Musik Ottawa" and performing at the legendary Blacksheep Inn sharing the stage with Juno award winning/nominated artists like SoCalled, Craig Cardiff, Justin Nozuka, Lynn Miles, Jim Bryson, Jill Barber, Danny Michel, Hannah Georgas, Dar Williams and more.
